SEXTET +, NOVÝ JIČÍN, CZECH REPUBLIC
Sextet plus - a men ensemble with a sound! "Sexteťáci" - how we like to call ourselves - became integral part of cultural life not only in our hometown Nový Jičín but even also vocal chamber music in Czech Republic. For 19 years of active activity the following singers - students of the Gymnasium in Nový Jičín have passed through the ensemble: - the original line-up from the year 2006 (Daniel Florea, Jan Hána, Pavel Marek, Pavel Šimurda, Ondřej Červenka, Daniel Ševečka, Karel Dostál - artistic director till today). Through the ensemble over the years passed: Daniel Florea, Tomáš Hrňa, Daniel Hochman, Jakub Varmuža, Jan Kalník, Marek Strnadl, Marek Baroň, Dominik Luong, Jan Řezáč, Martin Swiač, Tomáš Tomšů (student of Mendelova hight school), René Lušovský, Matěj Jandl, Marek Sopuch. The current line-up consists of following singers: Radek Dostál, Matyáš Kaňa, Vojtěch Urban, David Maňásek, Jan Bártek, Lukáš Ondryhal, David Sochor, Jakub Dostál and Karel Dostál.
Notable performances are: concert and honorary appearance as a member of the delegation of the City of Nový Jičín in Épinal, France in 2007 - guest of the international festival Canti veris Prague at the closing concert in 2008 - guest of the international festival of Advent and Christmas music in Bratislava at the opening concert (December 2013) - appearance on Czech television, Good Morning (October 2013) - guest at the Kaunas Cantat International Festival in Kaunas, Lithuania, as part of a trip to Norway (May 2014) - guest at the opening concert of the Mezzochori International Festival in Pardubice (November 2017) - appearance on Aleš Cibulka's radio programme Tobogan, live from the reconstructed Pantheon of the National Museum in Prague with guests Daniela Kolářová, Viktor Preiss and Pavel Pafek (November 2018) - personally awarded by the Union of Czech Choirs - honorary performances at the events of the Police of the Czech Republic in Ostrava and Příbor - performance at the Czech Centre in Paris (April 2019) - performance at the Czech-Japanese Concert at the Rudolfinum in Prague (April 2019) - performance at Expo 2020 in Dubai (February 2022).
Significant awards of the Sextet plus: - Gold Band and Jury Prize for the performance of Loch Lomond, Mezzochori 2019 - Gold Band at the International Festival in Pardubice 2017 - Gold Band at the national round of Gymnasia Cantat in Brno 2007 and at the International Competition Young Prague 2009 - 2. place on International Competition Festival in Provence in La Seine-Sur-Mer in category Vocal Groups 2023, many other awards at regional and national rounds of choral competitions.
